Paying for Events

We use PayPal to receive electronic payments for our events. This service allows you to safely use a debit or credit card online, even if you do not have a PayPal account. Credit card charges will appear on your statement from “SOCIETYCHIL,” the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. If you are unable to pay electronically, send us an email to inquire about check payments.

Policies and Permissions

Our anti-harassment statement, privacy policy, and permissions information for events can be found here. SCBWI has a zero-tolerance policy against harassment of any kind. Any violation of this policy is actionable.

Refunds

We have a “no refunds” policy** for all events.  If you are unable to attend an event you registered for, we suggest contacting a fellow member or friend  to take your place. We do not give refunds for missed consultation or critique appointments. However, we will send completed SCBWI Gold Forms by mail or email.

**During this period of public health concerns, SCBWI had modified its cancellation/refund policy as follows: If you are sick and cannot attend an event, you will be able to receive a full tuition refund up until the day of the event so that you can stay home, take care of yourself, and prevent the spread of illness. This policy is in effect until September 1,2020. Be well.

Minors

Our workshops and events are for adults that are interested in writing and/or illustrating books for children and teens. You must be 18 years of age or older to attend any SCBWI event.
