Learn to navigate the complexities of the publishing industry!

Authors Stephanie Oaks and Trent Reedy will talk about—

·         How to write fast-action, high-impact fiction that sells

·         The elements you absolutely need to get your story published

·         How to know when your manuscript is ready for publication

·         How to find the right agent or editor

Bring your questions and get answers. After the panel you'll meet in a small group with other writers in your genre to share and learn. You'll forge professional relationships and get on the fast track to publishing your manuscript for children or teens.

Agent Manuscript Critiques

*Deadline for Agent Critiques has passed.  But there is still space in genre critique groups. You may bring a piece of writing to share for critique (1,000 words maximum). After the panel you'll meet in a small critique group with other writers in your genre.

If you have a preference for a particular agent, you may indicate that at the time of submission. We will honor requests on a first-come, first-serve basis.

·         For a written manuscript critique from an agent, you must register and submit your manuscript before                 August 20, 2016.  Email to:

·         For novels send the first ten pages, for picture books send the full manuscript (1,000-words maximum).  

·         You will receive your written critique from the agent at the event on September 17th.
